Dear Friend

The fixtures for 2005-2006 season have been published today.
We are scheduled to play at home against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday December 17th 2005. As you will be aware the saturday before christmas can be challenging in terms of attracting an above average attendance. Crewe Alexandra have one of smaller away support and there is a thought that moving the match to Friday December 16th with a 7.45pm is an option.

As a valued supporter I am at this stage looking at a straw poll to gain the views of our supporters as to the merits or otherwise of a change of date.

I would appreciate a quick turn round of views (within 24hrs). Please discuss with friends and colleagues but I would appreciate a quick reply.

I must stress that this is just the early stages and no decision has been taken either way.
Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

is he asking you if you dont mind going to see the crewe game on a friday evening at 7.45? i dont mind really, and to fill it up just b4 xmas, charge 10max for adults, 7 quid young adults, 5 concessions and under 8's go free throughout the stadium. im all for it.

Must admit that a Saturday kick off always takes preference for me, especially a three o'clock one, regardless of any other factors

Come on, folks - let hear your views. They are really making an effort here

yep a fans fixture would be good.

Defo Saturday, however coops has a good point. They could defo fill that stadium the Saturday before Xmas if they priced it accordingly.

Defo Saturday for me. I doubt that I would get down to the ground in time, with Friday traffic and I usually go to the fixtures around crimbo.

My advice would be to get some fecker to proof read his fecking e-mails.
How shody is that? This is why standards must be maintained...

I believe that to be correct English, why not a "support" as a noun, though I do not believe anyone would say or write that phrase in everyday life. ;-)

Saturday for me please...

Friday night will be a nightmare for people who have to travel any distance - leave it on the Saturday.

No chance of getting the ground full for a game like Crewe a week before Christmas, whatever the price of admission.

Moving the game would take away my excuse of not beeing able to do any xmas shopping cos I'm goin to the footy. Leave it on saturday please.

saturday for me, can't imagine getting there after work on a friday should be too easy for me or many other supporters

We have enough fixtures moved for other reasons, football for me should always be played 3pm Saturday afternoon.
It is great that they are asking questions like this, but why do they think moving to 7:45 on a Friday night would give any benifit?
As already said, make it a fans fixture with low prices if you want to attract a bigger crowd.
