Leicester City supporter Irene Holiday had more than one reason to celebrate her 100th birthday last Saturday.
Irene, who has been following the Foxes since the 1930s, was overjoyed to receive here telegram from the Queen at the Wood Hayes Residential Home on Hinckley Road upon reaching the remarkable milestone.
There were further celebrations later in the day when Filbert Fox and Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall popped along to say hello.
Birch said: "A few of the residents joked that she was about the only person around these days who can still remember me playing! "We had a good old sing song and everyone joined in. Irene was the life and soul of the party. We all had a great time.
"She loves the club with all her heart and it's great to know that she is still backing us after all these years."
Irene was presented with a shirt from the club on the day - signed by all the players and staff at the club.
Care home manager Lynne Horsley added: "It was great of Alan and Filbert to pop along. It certainly cheered everyone up - especially Irene!"
