Could this forthcoming game against Sheffield United game if we lose be like another game against the same opposition in 1996 when a certain MON* (and the team) was booed quite venomously and a good majority of fans were calling for his head.

If so could any of the following happen:-

1. We have the same outcome afterwards i.e. promotion through the play-offs:102: CL bringing the matter up time and time again after we get into a good position and have a good team:icon_eek:

2. Peter Crouch:eek: comes on loan from Liverpool and scores his first goal of the season to win the play-off semi-final against Southampton BUT we lose the final to Wolves:icon_evil after being 3-0 up

3. CL gets the sack and we end up with Mike Newall who recruits Steve Walsh as his coach.:102:

*you certainly never let us fans forget that did you Martin:icon_wink

At the time of the last Sheffield Utd showdown Robson and Jerome were at number 1 with I Believe which was a crap cover version, this week we have Madonna at number 1 doing Hung Up which is virtually a crap cover version. So yes anything can happen but probably wont.

I doubt that this match will provoke a real bad reaction ,not that i or anyone will want a bad result Saturday. There is not much in comparison with the 1996 game. The frustrating thing for the fans then was that they knew the team was good enough and it looked like it was all slipping away at the start of MON reign. With this team we are simply not good enough and promotion is not an option this season imo.

I think part of the problem is that there appears to be an almost resigned acceptance from the fans that protesting will not bring about change so therefore what is the point, TBH there have been a number of very poor or mediocre performances this season and to be fair I think the supporters have been pretty restrained in their criticism. Until the board are put under serious pressure to reevaluate the situation then I am afraid things will continue to drift on.

People in business respond to consumer pressure, the more you complain the more they listen, I have heard very little in terms of protest at the games and whilst people are airing pretty strong views on local radio and forums alike, IMO the board will only really start to sit up and take notice should the dissatisfaction start to spread to the terraces on matchdays. There has been little in the way of demonstration levelled at Levein and his tactics and so I believe he has a little more time just yet. What we as fans must not allow is for this club to be run on apathy, otherwise we may as well lock the gates and let the club die now.

We will win on Saturday - 2-0, easy

"Possibly unfortunately, I can see us winning on Saturday!"

This type of attitude gets my goat. 'I've decided something is true so I welcome anything that backs it up even if it's to the detriment of myself/my team'. I'm as hacked off with recent performances as you, especially the subs on Tuesday, but CL has improved some things and if he can turn it round we'll all be applauding. Why will them to fail for heaven's sake? We saw how crap Watford are - twice outplayed by us in a month - and they're 3rd! It's not as if we're demonstrably worse than most teams.

No, it's just our results that are.

No. This time we are all for one and one for all in support of our funny little leader.
