"Coventry striker Onandi Lowe has been bailed by police after being arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.
The 30-year-old Jamaica international is expected to keep his place in the Sky Blues squad which travels to take on West Ham on Saturday.
A statement released by Northamptonshire Police read: "On Wednesday 14 April, a man and a woman were arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with attempt to supply and attempting to supply a controlled drug.
"The man, aged 30 years and from Rushden, was arrested in the Wellingborough area.
"The woman, aged 23 and from London, was arrested in Rushden. A quantity of drugs was seized by the police.
"The man and the woman were taken to Wellingborough police station for questioning and later released on police bail pending further inquiries."
Lowe has endured a turbulent start to his Coventry career having joined from Rushden until the end of the season.
Difficulties securing a work permit meant he was initially ineligible and he also missed a game after arriving back from international duty five days late.
As punishment, Lowe was fined two weeks' wages - the maximum allowed under guidelines agreed by the Professional Footballers' Association.
Lowe eventually made his debut as a substitute in last weekend's 4-0 victory over Millwall with his full debut coming in Easter Monday's 3-1 defeat at Crewe - where he scored Coventry's consolation.
A club statement said: "Onandi Lowe has informed the club he has been arrested in connection with possession of a package containing an illegal substance.
"Due to resulting legal proceedings against Onandi, Coventry City are unable to comment on this matter at the present time."
