I've recently had my company credit card copied so had to use a colleagues card for a while until my new one turned up. Now she has had a dodgy charge appear on her card too and I'm wondering if there is a malicious program on my pc. Can anyone suggest a free download that could check for this or any ideas on what to do? I've been using malwarebytes along with the company installed security program (sophos) but they havent picked anything up.

You could try this one: http://www.bitdefender.co.uk/scanner/online/free.html

I had my card number stolen, and then again not long after receiving the replacement card. I did 5 or 6 different scans without finding anything on my PC, so I thought maybe one of the companies I buy stuff from online had poor security and the number had been stolen from them. So I started using Paypal a lot more instead and haven't had the problem since.

I've also installed Rapport which helps protect information from being stolen.

And on top of that when entering my card details online I enter the number in the wrong order, using my mouse to reposition the digits. This should combat any key logging that is getting your number.

Cheers Jeff, I'll give that a go.

I use a similar technique, except I just click away from the box where I'm entering the number, then enter a load of random numbers, click back into the box and enter a few of the real numbers, click away again and enter more random numbers etc

I know a bit about this, Cate

Let me have your card number, and any PIN you may use, and I'll look into it for you....

the online link one wouldnt work, so I downloaded the 30 day free trial. Turns out I had KillAV on my system somehow - apparently (according to internet blurb) this can monitor keystrokes, so thanks for the heads up Jeff. Only £30 a year for the registered version so I think its worth it.

Did you not already have antivirus installed?

We have sophos (which is as much use as a chocolate teapot) and I was also using malwarebytes... neither picked up on this or the other trojan file it detected.

DO NOT have more than antivirus program installed at once. A really bad idea.

Malwarebytes isn't an antivirus is it:102:?

It doesn't scan everything while you're on online (I don't think).I just run a scan on it every now and again if I've been on an iffy site.

This thread has not informed me how to clone/hack credit cards and I hold it in breach of its titular promise.
