Funny how the whole of the kop was chanting and singing the "Iwan Roberts song" on Saturday, but don't chant or sing for any of the current players in the squad

Speaks volumes, doesn't it ?

Indeed it does. All our 'singing' fans must be on the charlie because they are about as creative as a turd.

Plus L1 and some of the family stand as well. I taught it to my kids (toned down version) at half time just in case the big fella came on.

i heard L1 were giving jordan a hard time is this correct and if so why? as in he's just a shite as the others?

Some people don't like him however well he plays.

At Preston one moment summed it up for me.

Joprdan came across to the centre of the area to head away a cross. He didn't get a lot of distance on his header, but it went to a Leicester player, so there was no danger. Dion Dublin then made a complete cock up of his pass (under no pressure), and almost gave Preston a goal.

The bloke in front of me (who'd been slagging off Jordan previously), stood up and directed the most obscene tirade of abuse at Jordan imaginable, the 'clean' version was that he called Jordan the worst player we've ever had at the club. If he gets that sort of abuse when he's not done anything wrong, I can imagine the sort of abuse he gets after some of the corners he took on Saturday.

After a few more minutes of the idiot in front abusing players (mainly Stewart), I'd had enough and move to another seat.

Seems a bit harsh Webbo.

I wanted to do that, but I don't want to get banned. Either that or I'm too much of a wimp.

Probably a bit of both webmeister, cheer up old cock. You did the right thing.

Why do people feel the need to give abuse to Stewart everytime he plays. He has some fantastic skills to show off and is also a good defender as well. Why when he does get a cross wrong must the whole of the kop moan and droan at him.

I listened to Radio Leics after the game on Sat and i think Matt Jones got it down to a T. When he is playing away from the kop up to the family end he plays so much better than when he is playing towards the kop. It has to be a confidence thing. When he does something slightly wrong the kop lambast him and his head goes down, whereas running towards the family end they are a lot more patient with him meaning he tries over and over again.

I believe it is the same people who used to boo Guppy, it must be a left sided thing.

Think the criticism of Stewart is a bit harsh, OK hes not been great this year but at least he is of the age that he can improve and isnt just one of the old journeymen who are over the hill

A bit harsh??? Fecking hell compared to the shower of shit we have been watching week in week out he has been one of our best performers

The guy who sits in front of me is on his feet shouting abuse almost everytime Jordan gets the ball. The only way I can explain peoples dislike of him is that he fails to deliver more than other players purely because he takes a chance where others wouldn't. Isn't that what we want?

Surely Jordans positivity is better than a sideways pass or a knock back to let somebody else have a go? You don't win games that way.

I think the abuse was because he was getting the basics wrong. We applaud someone who will try something skilful and try to 'skin' an opponent even if it does not always come off. Three corners in a row when you fail to clear the first defender is about basic ball skills, not confidence. There is no pressure or split second judgement required.
Scowcroft gets moaned at the in the same way when 8 out of 10 of his 'free' headers go sailing over the bar! It is basic ball control that is supposed to be practiced on the training ground so that it becomes second nature.

His corners are usally ok, but all his crosses where poor, i thought he was having a bad day or a bit under the weather (as they say) what ever it was he did not deseve the abuse. Though, after the second cockup, he should have let someone else take them.

I know this might sound ridiculous but even the easiest things become difficult when you combine pressure and inexperience in a situation.

The only thing I can liken it to is playing in a band. If something goes against you like an unresponsive crowd or a broken string, even the simple things that you have played 100 times become difficult and the mistakes start to appear. You can only overcome this with experience.

Some of us forget that Jordan is still learning the game. Players like Rooney, Owen, Defoe who appear to show no signs of pressure are the exception.

In a match report in the Independent after the Gillingham game, Jordan Stewart got the man of the match award from a completely unbiased reporter.

Says it all, really...
