I still cant believe that people are on De Vries back - when Stoke scored their second goal, the morons around me were blaming De Vries and shouting for his head - since when has he been a defender? For me, the guy ran his socks off last night and it was a vast improvement on his performances last season. His goal was well taken and if only he was a little bit more selfish he would have scored lots of goals - I do believe the goals will come for him, but only if the morons leave him alone!!!

sorry if anyone has already posted this, but I was sooooooo angry about it last night.

nice to see we can score goals though!

CL said on RL this morning that he didn't bring MDV in to score 20+ goals a season, but for the link-up play he can provide if he gets the ball on the deck, and the fact he can set chances up. He did that superbly last night, and luckily we had no idiots calling him near us last night.

The guy was immense last night - yet people still criticse him, a woman behind me even managed to find fault with his goal ffs. Morons, plain and simple.

i couldn't care less, if he only scores 10 in a season, connolly certainly seems to be thriving on that partnership, lets hope he continues with the goals, it will be good if he gets 20+ goals this season.

i only listened to the game on Radio Leicester but it sounded like mdv played well. :038:

Not sure if it was me hearing things, but I sit in E3 in the Kop and when MDV name was called in the team line ups within the cheers I did hear some boos:mad: .
I think he had a good game last night, he is not a world beater (then who is in the champ) and how such a big man can make a mess of heading is beyond me, but he put himself around last night and it was good to see that we were playing the ball to his feet alot more which is his strength, some of his close ball control was really good and he nearly always had two players around him.
Still after the game Oh so many people were slagging him off FFS.
I think when the team settles a bit more and our midfield start to get forward I think his hold up play will be an asset.
If Dublin had put in MDV's performance last night the cries of Dion, Dion..... would have been echoing around the walkers.

I also had a large collection of these d*ckheads you talk of around me (not you Lazzer :icon_lol: )

I couldn't believe the reaction when we were 3-1 up and the crowd were getting pissed off that we were trying to play the match out, urging them to press forward. Stoke thought they were beaten and were not even trying to get the ball back. As soon as we pushed forward we lost the ball and put ourselves under pressure.

Stupid feckin twats.

we also noticed this as well 3-1 up possession along the back four they cant score when we have the ball what do all the dickheads do ? start barracking the players urging them to hoof it and when we did and they scored the same people were moaning :102:

I had a few words with some of these cvnts. The crowd created the problem - the game would have ended 3-1 if it wasn't for them getting on the players backs to push forward - mindless twats.

Levein even syas the same without implicating the crwod, obviously.

AGREED!! As a long-term resident of E2 I thought MdV had has best game since he came here, and took his goal well. Some of his link up play, especially the one touch stuff was good too. I just wish he'd play a little nearer Connelly at times, so they play as a unit, but hey, that's me showing me age again.

It just amazes me that people who have obviously been to quite a few footie matches just don't understand what the game is about at all. I really wonder if they could explain their reasons for having a go at MDV or why it would be a good idea to hoof the ball to Stoke when we were on top...

STOP...THINK...IDIOT!

someone started a thread today on the OS asking who shold partner DC...De Vries or Dublin*sigh*

i replied with this:

the way he has started the season de Vries.

i was saying this last night to my mate who phoned up for a 'report' on the game: for the first half of last season DC had a different strike partner every couple of weeks,it's no wonder there was no understanding forming amongst him and AN Other. yet when De Vries arrived and was playing alongside him regularly something clicked for DC and he started playing better and getting himself more goals(albeit some from the penalty spot) i really do believe that playing alongside De Vries week in,week out instead of a rota of partners helped him end the season on a good note.

this season we have seen that de Vries has trimmed down,he's fitter(due to the extra month pre-season)imo he looks a little quicker and against Sheff Utd and Stoke he was very aware of whereabouts DC was on the pitch and they do seem to have begun to compliment each other.
i just hope MDV doesn't let the booboys get him down and concentrates on putting in performances like he did last night.

if he only scores 12/13 goals himself i'd be happy with that cos i reckon he'd supplement DC getting 20+ easily if that happens.

boo boys=complete and utter pricks!!

Why doesn't Mark get on a treadmill and get his fitness up?

He will be a good link-up player, or good enough to get you up to top 6ish, when he gets fit. If DC keeps up his form, it can only be good for MDV. I hope he is given a run to improve his fitness.

what you on about he is fit. he went back to pre-season a month early. and so much for your lots views about him being shit. hes playing really really well.
no wonder the guys a nervous wreck, first he has hearts fans laying into him and now a minority of our own boo brigade.

de vries de vries de vries is on fire!!!!

Well said Lako42.

Is it me, or do we have more than our fair share of dickheads down the Walkers?

it's annoying me now. Lako42 getting angry :067:

I am usually one of MDV's harshest critics. However, last night the guy was superb. It was his best performance for city by a mile. If he continues like this I would be glad to see him play out his career at city.

If I have one piece of criticism and advice it is that with a little training his ball control may reach the standard of a baby rhino.

But as Steve Claridge used to say "I haven't got a clue where the ball is, so at least the opponents won't".

Well played MDV. Don't let the bastards get to you
