...Portsmouth, West Ham and Villa - no global fan base, but all 3 with international owners expecting a financial return. Why did Milan choose leicester? Not due to its close vicinty to Foxton locks or because of his fondness for locally made pork pies. He sees good fanbase, high quality stadium and as such a prem club, not one wanting 16 points to avoid joining forest in league 1

Also Liverpool, Manyoo and Newcastle have a global fanbase which these money grabbing sorts would love to target

And have established brand names that would go down well (and be exploited) in the burgeoning american league

Leicester City don't come into that category, and never will

City will never be popular in the States because we would be too difficult for your average yank to pronounce.

"Leeyiysester city, who are they?"

Because we are desperate and on our knees, and will therefore cost him precisely bugger all

Instead of loyalty, 'putting something back' or just a love of pukka pies at 4pm on a saturday afternoon...the reason David Wilson should invest is only thing he knows and respects....money. Ask yourself why's Gillete bought Liverpool, Glazers bought Man U, Learner bought Villa...etc.., plus a whole host of people looking at Newcastle...its not for the love of football, but of the pound note. The new sky deal will mean that the team finishing last in Premiership will earn the same as Chelsea last year at winners. Think about, 2 years in the Prem guarantees nearly £70m and thats before you start raking in the cash for crap calendars of players who longer play for your team, or replica kit sales for kids who probably prefer to have Henry on their on their back instead of Hume. So David Wilson, as the Pet Shop boys once sang: "You've got the cash, Milan's got the club...go make some more money (at LCFC)"....or maybe not

On a cold afternoon , can we for once get real! David Wilson is not a football man and has got more sense than to throw his money away. MM is a football man and for the kicks he gets is prepared to wheel and deal. Do us a favour and forget about David Wilson.

He's too busy slowly destroying the Leicestershire countryside to bother about buying a clapped out old football club

I think you will find there is a place called Leicester (and spelt the same) in America :102: so maybe not..

I couldn't see Leicester ever building a big fanbase outside the UK - we don't even have that big a fanbase IN the UK. But like it or lump it, success brings many things.. including fans. As we have seen over the years.. no success.. seems to mean losing fans.

why is he.......:102:

If I was as rich as he was there would be no way I would plough money into something I have no interest in such as rugby or cricket.

The owner of easyjet was asked how much money he reckons is needed for a comfortable lifestyle without needing to worry about the future and he said 10 million.

When Wilson dies he wont take his wealth with him and if he donated say 50 million it will make absolutely no difference to his lifestyle even if he simply did it for moral and publicity reasons.

Unfortenatly someone else on the rich list when interviewed admitted that rich people tend to be b******* and very immoral. Not all but most he had socialised with including himself.

Fair enough, but the point several people have been making is that investing heavily in a football club is not something he would see as a priority. Don't know him, what sort of person he is or what his views are. No Idea whether he will even have access to much of the money - it could be going into family trusts, charitable trusts or anything. There are plenty of other wealthy people around who have money for much longer.

I know it can come as a shock, but not everyone shares our obsessions.

Of course, many rich people may have assets worth lots of money but not necessairly readily available cash, none of us know the ins and outs of his financial capabilities.

The official American pronunciation would be the "Lie-sesster-shy-or Blue Foxes". I believe...

If you're rich but have a lot of available cash, you probably won't be rich for long! The vast majority of rich people stay rich by occasionally shunting money from one fund to another. There may be a bank account somewhere with some dosh in it, but that's only for "playing" with. The serious stuff will be tied up either in property or real estate, or in funds which, in most cases, fines will be applied for 'early withdrawl' (awaits editing...)

Is there any reason why he should feel obliged or pressured into putting money into this death pit of a club?
