what people seem to forget is that akinbiyi is a half decent player at this level

exactly - at this level. I am pretty bored of people slagging MDV off to be honest... why cant we just support our players (even if they do drive us to distraction most of the time) :(

Too be honest neither, I think both players are at best average at this level. Akinbiyi as will all know will always be remembered for being one of, if not the worst signing in the clubs history, purely because of the fee we paid for him.

Now De Vries, whom I have supported and backed to the hilt, I am afraid despite his 6 goals is clearly not good enough to be playing regularly at this level. Now before anybody says I am making him out to be a scapegoat, he was not to blame for last night's defeat, however he is too slow, his touch at times can be superb and on others it can be awful, on too many occasions he takes an extra touch rather than shoot on instinct and his heading is too poor, the problem with De Vries is when he is on song he is average for the division but when he is poor he is diabolical, and the problem is there are too many players like that in the current City squad.

At least MDV behaves like someone who knows his limitations, he tries his best, and contributes in his own way. Akinbye actually believed he was worth £5 million, he missed chances that even Roger Davies or Alan Waddle remember those two diamonds?) would have scored, and when he did shin one in he acted like it was the clincher in a world cup final!

MDV ain't the best, but if he keeps up the goal/games ratio he will be good enough.

i disagree with this. I think he is good enough to play at this level. But even Shearer wouldn't have done anything with the service he got on Tuesday night. He's no world better, and isn't really going to make anything out of nothing, but he can put the ball in the net.
The bottom half of this division is full of very poor teams, but teams which come to places like Leicester and stop us playing. Ifyou look at the strikers other teams have in this division alot of them are not as good as MDV.

I'm more concerned about our other two strikers, Hammond takes 5 chances to score, and Hune looks a little light weight at the moment (Hopefully he'll come good through)
