Celtic move for Hibs starlet turned down

An offer for Derek Riordan from Celtic has been rejected by Hibernian according to reports

Riordan is one of the most wanted young players in Britain after his 21 goals last season and his rejection of a contract extension offered by the Easter Road club.

With one year left on his current deal, Hibs have admitted that they are open to offers but the first move from Celtic has not matched their valuation.

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has said that his transfer targets will be similar to those of his predecessor Martin O’Neill after lengthy discussions between the two men before Strachan took the job.
