Dickov Joins Derby
Posted on: Fri 28 Aug 2009

Leicester City striker, Paul Dickov, has today completed a loan move to the Foxes' East Midlands rivals, Derby County.

Dickov, who has now had two spells at the Walkers Stadium, will make the temporary switch to Pride Park until January.

The Scottish striker will not be eligible to play against the Foxes when Derby visit for the Coca-Cola Championship clash on Saturday October 17th. To purchase tickets for that key clash click HERE.

Dickov will be in contention to make his debut for Derby against Nottingham Forest tomorrow at the City Ground.

Great stuff.

He did well to get a two-year contract out of coming here. Enjoy the sheep Dicky.

Good stuff.

Regardless of people's opinions on him, and whether they think the criticism is harsh, he's our 6th, possibly even 7th choice striker this season (behind Fryatt, Howard, Waghorn, Gallagher, Kermogarent and N'Guessan). It's therefore better to get him off the wage bill and out the club

Of course, this move does neither of those things. Let's hope the next one is not too far behind.

Regardless of peoples opinions of him now he has been a good servant of our Club! He forged a brilliant partnership with Brian Deane the year we went up. (Much to Colin's anger re administration.

I still believe though he missed that penalty on purpose against Man City at home. too think if he had scored we would have stayed up. Sidenote Stefan Freund was brill that game!!??

However, his legs have gone and watching him at home to Barnsley and away at Preston it is clear he is now a liability re challenges and getting booked sent off!

I wish him well at Derby, but it is time he bit the bullet and hung up his boots.

6 in 7 at Blackpool, very good scoring record in a poor team, cant knock that
We Are Derby

This is from a Derby fans forum they are livid!!!!

Funny thing is this was before we signed him back when we were relegated from the Championship???:081::081:

With Sav and Dickov I think they could seriously challenge this year.

Strange move, however a good one for us !!

The thing is, they've just let Varney out on loan to Sheff Wed. Surely he's a better player to have than Dickov, the bloke only started about 5 games last season.

That does seem like a crazy crazy move. Wednesday fans love Varney, they were pleased to get him back.

Exactly and there must of been a young prem striker available on loan or something !! Crazy move from them I must admit I'm puzzled about it :icon_sad:

Yes but what do you expect from a manager well out of his depth?
