I have never been convinced that DJ is a £1m+ player but, he does have pace, which is something we lack up front. If he wants to let bygones be bygones, we would be foolish not to give the man another crack.

It's alright having pace, but when that results in you constantly being offside, I think I'd sooner have someone a bit slower who has the ability to stay onside and so not give away posession every 5 minutes.

It seems that he has alienated a fair few City fans with his rumblings over the past months, so IF he is ready to apologise, IF NP and co want to take him back, the man has got a lot of work to do to prove his worth.

I feel he could be a dead man walking in a City shirt.

Personally, IF he's accepted back in the fold, I'll go along with it as I believe he can bring something different to the table.

He was not In NP's plans before he gobbed off so what makes you think he will be if he says sorry?

NP obviously does not rate him and a half harsed apology will make ****k all difference.

Apologies to the fans will mean feck all to Pearson. If he does not see the right attitude and performance on the training ground, Pearson will not play him.

Anyone seen DJ training?

It would be like having a new player if he did apologise and make up with NP. It probably won't happen though, I reckon the club are still looking to shift him before we sign anyone else.

No point cutting noses to spite face, fact of the matter is we have him in the squad, he costs us a lot, we can't ship him out, so we are in a much stronger position to be able to use him in the squad surely?

Alex - the voice of reason.

Ridiculous let him rot in the reserves on god knows how much a week then we can buy a big name player like simeon jackson!!

If and it is a big if dj can make up with np and prove him self on the pitch which we all know he is capable of he could be a major asset to this club.

And just a small point on the offside thing it isnt always the strikers fault you know if the ball isnt played in time what chance do they have!

Not if he can't be arsed. Doesn't matter how much he cost, how long we have him on contract, if he can't/won't change his attitude he could end up being a negative rather than a positive influence IMO.

I'm a bit concerned about our strike force. Obviously if Howard and Fry Up hit the same notes as last year we will be OK but there are doubts as to whether Howard can put in a 40 game shift over the season and Fry Up has perhaps got a bit to prove in this division. Dickov is a decent impact player but I reckon this will be his last season for us.

There is talk of Chambers getting a break this season too but I can't see him being any more than a bit part player. Then there is Jo Guest or whatever his name is, who I haven't seen so can't comment but I thought he was signed as a winger.

With no other striker signed (I was hoping for at least one) I would welcome back DJ if he is prepared to play for us. The issue still is though if NP rates him enough to play him.

Mmmmm don't know which performances give you this impression, every time I have watched him play or attempt to play he has been totally shite and most certainly does not understand the offside rule.

For someone with so much pace he does not have a fecking clue how to use it.

Well in the case of Howard who is stood stationary two yards offside I would say it is his fault. Similarly Hammond, Fryatt and DJ were all guilty of running into offside positions unnecessarily because they have the speed to beat the defender once the ball has been kicked.
