Does Gilbert actually go to the game?

that may be the essence of the whole site so that could be difficult alex :icon_roll

Ha ha, true, it just felt a bit too personal that, calling him a twat is unfair.

Londoners are much more twitchy about the word than people who live in Leicester. To be called a t-w-a-t is a relatively minor concern!

I'm sure Gilbert doesn't go to away games, all of his reports use the same kind of phrasing etc as is used on Radio Leicester. While there is nothing wrong with that as such when I read a report of a game I've not been to I want to hear something new & perhaps get a different opinion on how the game was, not just hear exactly what was said in the RL commentary.

maybe he just likes trains? i was on the train one time between brum n manchester and this anorak came and sat next to me (they always fcukin do) he told me that everyday he gets up and rides the trains and has no plan to where he ends up. and that way he gets to see different train numbers. at this point he pulled out a notepad that was a list of all the trains in service in the uk with ticks and locations next to them to signify where he'd seen them. it was fascinating how messed up and obsessed by trains a human being could be. maybe he was gilbert???? :icon_roll

I know a couple of Leicester fans who are big on trains and spotting, and they're perfectly reasonable people who just happen to have that as their hobby. Me, I read books, go walking, make electronic music and play Football Manager. You, I suspect, are keen on Phoenix Nights. Everyone needs a way to relax, especially supporting Leicester!

*ping webbo* Did you see any train to anywhere north after the game, webbo? I'm sure I didn't!

Maybe he was on the same train as us, and updated his site when he got to London. But if he did that he failed to mention the three hour wait for the train when he wrote "I wandered back to the station, and got back on to the train"

If he'd got a direct train back to the midlands he'd have had to leave Plymouth before the match started.

There was also *nobody* in 1st class!

And London isn't "up north" - even from Plymouth.

I remember ages ago reading a match story of his and him saying where he lived and that it was no-where near Leicester. Can't remember where but I think it's a bit further south.

His stuff can be fairly entertaining. Occasionally.

He lives in Derbyshire.

But even if he does live in the South, there would have been no train home after the match, unless he lived in the South West - and if that's the case it wouldn't have been the long journey he described in his report.

I love the way Gilbert never in great detail describes the action at away games.

I think I might make a website built up on fiction, Hello I'm Harry The Filbert, I came over all the way from Texas to see us play Plymouth, the game was alright, they scored, the weather terrible, it got cancelled and then I took a plane from Plymouth back Houston, I was tucked up in bed by 11.
