I'm still adamant our players are good enough to compete with every team in this division on a match by match basis. We are no worse, player wise, than Leeds, Cardiff, 'Boro or Southampton, we just aren't playing as well as them. The only team with a much better squad is West Ham. This isn't me thinking our players are brilliant, just that the rest of the teams are as much of a muchness as us.

To me they seem to playing with a complete lack of confidence, but I don't seem to be able to spot what everyone else can.

I think you are wholly correct. Too many players appear to just expect things to happen; they don't realise that they have to make them happen. It started in the Sven era when the thought seemed to be that they just had to hang on to the ball long enough and the goals would follow. A complete change of attitude is required.
