No it wasn't. It was the first day of the 2000th year. The counting of years started at 1, not 0.
So why are we in the 21st century. Woudln't we be in the 20th century by your count?

The FIRST year under the current calendar started at year one. Therefore the fiurst century ended at the end of year 100, and the second century started at the start of year 101, etc, until we get the 21st century starting in 2001.
So using your system there must have been a century with only 99 years in it. :icon_roll
