Editors NIA 29th February

Before I arrived at the NIA I had my reservations about whether or not the Editors were suitable for such a big stage, with lead singer Tom Smith pointing out, that this was the biggest gig on their current tour. However my doubts were soon cast aside as Smiths energetic stage presence and impressive vocals soon got the crowd going, with the set starting of strongly with “An End Has A Start” and “Bullets”. Unfortunately the night waned slightly after a series of weaker album tracks, but this was soon rectified with the arrival of a cover of The Cures “Lullaby” and old favourites “Munich” and “All Sparks”. However the undisputed highlights of the gig came towards the end of the evening, with a rousing rendition of “Fingers In The Factories” followed by my personal favourite “The Racing Rats”. Editors are undoubtedly a must see band.

Just seen that Editors will be supporting R.E.M at Cardiff at the Millenium later in the year, which I have tickets for. Excellent.

(Guillemots too, which is OK but only know a couple of their songs)
