Chelsea at home.

Week commencing 7th September.

A good draw, let's see what the 2nd eleven are made of

Apart from the same fixture away, it's difficult to imagine a worse draw.

Chelsea are the strongest side not in Europe so the most likely 'big side' to take this competition seriously. Their first team against our second team is no contest.

Wonder if Kante will play, and if he does, whether he'll be cheered or not?

I think they may be the worst team for us to play but I don't think they'll play their first team. They have such a massive squad of players and need to keep them happy. Unfortuantely they do have some very talented youngsters that will probably play in their "second team" against our second team.

This was their team in the second round:
  • 1Begovic
  • 34Aina
  • 2Ivanovic
  • 24Cahill
  • 28Azpilicueta
  • 4Fàbregas
  • 21Matic
  • 15Moses
  • 14Loftus-Cheek
  • 11Pedro
  • 23Batshuayi
Substitutes
  • 8Oscar
  • 10Hazard
  • 13Courtois
  • 19Diego Costa
  • 26Terry
  • 29Chalobah
  • 41Solanke

Worst draw possible in terms of getting through.

But I couldn't really give two shits about this one. Would rather give the FA Cup a go out of the two.

I'm with you there. After all they hammered Bristol Rovers 3-2 on Stamford Bridge in the previous round.

Chelsea also play Liverpool and Arsenal either side of the game with us, so I would expect that their First team will definitely play in those games.
We have Man Utd away the following weekend, so I don't think either team will play their full First XI
