I don't like this. I think Connolly's going to be subject to a bid you know people, I think we're being let down gently here.

I think we should worry if hes not in the squad for Luton.

TBH theres nothing we can do about it if they do accept a bid from some other club.

Let's face it if Jewell has been after Dean Windass and failed it's going to make him want to make a bid for every striker in the country before the deadline, Connolly is on the list somewhere hopefully below Stern John.

That article is worrying in that it once again mentions us receiving a bid we can't afford to turn down, but hopefully there's nothing to it.

It does ease my mind slightly to know Levein has a list of replacements ready if he needs to move quickly. I'd be worried if Connolly left though, as I don't know who we could get to replace him, especially with Riordan off to Cardiff (although I'm not sure if he's actually signed yet).

Hopefully no one will leave, but I would like to see us get maybe 1 or 2 extra players in as cover.

I for one am not too worried if connolly was to leave, as long as we recieved a fee which reflects his ability. I would want us to demand at least £2 mill, as Wigan clealy have a few bob to spend, having had two £5/6 mill offers for strikers rejected. If he does go hopefully these two are on his 'shortlist'

Rubbish. i'm bothered if he leaves because he is a 20+ goal a season player in this division and we need one of them to get us promoted. the 2 scottish lads a totally unproven at this level. i can see it now if we let connolly go and signed one of them..... if they didn't produce the fickle boneheads will be demanding leveins head and saying why did we sell connolly.

HE MUST STAY!!

Ahh, but i was suggesting that should he leave, there's no reason to go and top yourself, as there are options available, even if they are unproven at this level. Of course i wouldn't want him to go, but the way things are now it isn't really in Leveins' hands if Wigan were to make an 'offer we can't refuse'.

I have to admit that this story is beginning to make me suspicious that Wigan have maybe come sniffing, possibly made an enquiry. It certainly sounds like we are being set up for a bit of news. Also and this could be me being very suspicious but has Riordan maybe been approached by us, hence why he has turned down the move to Cardiff. All seems a little too coincidental, surely if the emergency plans were just to cover injuries then there wouldnt have been such a need to inform the fans, it seems to me that a deal is imminent and CL is reassuring the fans, so near to the deadline, not to panic has he has identified replacements.

I think the deal is done all by the signing and CL is waiting for people to put their name on paper. But as I keep saying I trust CL to find us a better replacment

Riordan and Boyd pulling out of their moves to Cardiff does make me wonder about CL's comment about having people lined up. I think we will see one of them if not both here before Sept 1st. CL's comments seem t me to be preparing the ground, so people don't panic when the Connolly transfer is announced.

As I have said I think tomorrow will be a big indicator.

I don`t think there`s a great deal to worry about really, don`t know where all the talk of DC going came from, Sunday People ??? we must also remember that the transfer deadline does`nt affect us, we can still trade !

thought the window applied to all divisions this year?

I was of that opinion to.

I may be wrong but am pretty sure it`s just the Premiership, I`m certain that someone on here will put us straight soon !

That was the case last season but this season it applies to the football league too.
