I thought they werent gonna apply it to the lower leagues in case it put the smaller clubs out of business. but as usual the FA just do what they want. Bloody law unto themselves.:icon_evil

It's not the FA's fault - they seem to get the blame for a lot of stuff that's nothing to do with them.
FIFA tried to get the league to adopt the transfer window a few years ago, but the authorities in this country have put it off for as long as they could, but eventually the league had to accept FIFA's rules

I think it was actually the EU who told FIFA who told the FA that they HAD to have a window in the Football League this season, as I think the reason for it to begin with was that it's against EU employment laws or something.

Whatever the reason, we definetely have to follow the transfer window the same as the Premiership this season. Closes August 31st, reopens December 1st for a month, then reopens July 1st..

I think you're confusing two things there. The transfer window is imposed by FIFA, it's not a EU thing.

The one area where EU law comes into it is for players who don't have a contract with a club. They can sign for a club any time, because stopping them from getting a job would be against the law.

I don`t think there`s a great deal to worry about really, don`t know where all the talk of DC going came from, Sunday People ??? we must also remember that the transfer deadline does`nt affect us, we can still trade !

I agree with Biker, just a dodgy rumour in The People !! The same goes with this assumption Riordan would replace him.I can't remember CL ever stating any interest in Riordan, people seem to assume he's Scottish worth a few quid so he'd be the one If Connolly ever went.
