Senior league at best!

England finished the day on 422/8

Cobb hit 220!!! :038::038::038:

Yes- taking account of the pitiful state of the Bangladesh senior team; the fact that they would be playing in English conditions; the fact that they used 9 bowlers - I think that you could be about right.

I can see that being wiped out in England could be some sort of character building/ destroying educational experience for the Bangladeshis, but i can't see it as any sort of benefit for our young county cricketers. A bit like playing cricket in the garden with 10 year old siblings?

I was actually in Scarborough yesterday, shame I couldn't have a looksee.

What an innings from Cobb, a double hundred is special against whatever opposition

England win by 10 wickets with Cobb hitting an unbeaten 31 off 18 balls in the second innings. He now has a series average of 251!

Nathan Buck took 4 wickets and shared in a 66 partnership as number 11.

As I was saying..........and the above just seems to confirm that this is not a suitably challenging set of "test" and ODI matches.

I don't think it actually helps the development of young English cricketers especially those who are already playing some first class cricket.

I'm not saying that they might as well have played beach cricket whilst in Scarborough, but I bet you could have easily put together a far more challenging opposition from the available local Yorks club cricketers.

It was already announced before the series that Cobb and Taylor aren't playing in the next two tests. Presumably they played in the 1st since County didn't have a match at the same time. So County clearly agree with you.

I seem to recall that there was some sort of pre-arrangement that Cobb/Taylor drop out and David Willey (Northants) plays because they haven't got a game.

The tour could be a benefit to the young Bangladesh players providing they don't get hammered too badly, but I don't see any point in ridiculously cheap runs being presented to young county professionals. In my opinion it would have been better to have fixed up Bangladesh u 19s with games against county age group teams.
