So, this game reverts to a Sunday presumably so that it can be televised live.

Having taken 15 points out of a possible 15 in our last 5 league games we have a selection conundrum.

We now have 36 points and an away trip to Athletico Madrid on Wednesday next week so safety is almost certain so what does Shakey do?

Does he pick his strongest 11 and try to continue the momentum we have at the moment and switch a couple as early as he can should we take a comfortable lead?

Does he change 3-4 players?

Does he make a larger number of changes and have his 'aces' on the bench?

I assume our training at the moment is fairly light to reflect our 2 games a week?

I would probably play our strongest 11 and tell them to go for it for 30 minutes then look to change it, don't know whether this is right though?

We have the most important game in the clubs history on Wednesday so what do we do?

Everton are beatable having been softened up by Liverpool and I assume they are playing tonight so have one day less to recover.

1-3 Vardy double, Gray.

i would play a pretty strong team otherwise we could end up with egg on our faces in a big way if we are still on 36 points in 3 games time (palace and arsenal away)

Schmeichel
Simpson Huth Benalouane Chilwell
Ndidi Amartey
Albrighton Okazaki Gray
Slimani

Try and play on the lack of Williams and Funes Mori at the back. rely on getting the ball wide and hitting Slimani for headers in the box.

its a strong enough side to have us in the game for the last 30mins when we might introduce Drinkwater, Mahrez or Vardy.

No half measures. We're one win away from safety. Nobody has ever been relegated from the Premier League with 11 wins. With their recent results, and completely unlike their form earlier in the season, the players have earned the right to be given every chance against Madrid.

We all know the team (fitness/suspensions permitting) that will play against Madrid away and at home. None of them should even travel to Everton or Palace. They have got two massive challenges in six days as it is. Let them focus on them and get on with it.

The rest of the squad, plus kids have to handle the Everton and Palace games. Gray and Benny to start from last nights team, plus nine others. It would be madness to do anything else.

Someone's changed their tune about the champions league

Someone's changed their tune about the champions league

This is true. Three reasons:

1. The priority is always the Premier League for me. We've done enough now to all but secure our position, so why not go for it? I'd say the same if we were still in the FA Cup.

2. I loathe and despise Ath. Madrid after their cheating, snide buying of the ref 20 years ago. I want revenge.

3. The Seville home game had a rather transforming effect upon me. I'd love another night like that.

I' m probably heading to this. My first game in a very long time and very excited.

Call me plastic..

Last game was with my dad who is sadly no longer with us. We are eternal league champs and will always be one of last eight in the champs league in his mind.

Kasper
Amartey, Benny, Huth, Chilwell
Gray, Ndidi, King, Albrighton
Slimani, Vardy

If Wes is fit then give him some game time to get back up to speed and give Huth a rest.

11 Benny's for me, love the bloke.

I am not sure 'get up to speed' will be accurate in Wes's case, but he is a big leader on the pitch.

I'd play a strong team.

Same as last night but bring in Slimani for Okazaki, Albrighton for Mahrez and Amartey for Drinkwater. They've mostly had over a week off recently and they should be able to handle or weeks with games a week.

We need to keep the win streak and confidence growing.

Okazaki I'd rest because he's tired. Drinkwater because he's carrying an injury and Mahrez for a rest and to give Albrighton the chance to link up with Slim whilst keeping Gray on for his dangerous runs.

This run of games will test the metal of Shakey, let alone the players. I think we will have a much better idea of his man management skills after after what will be a very intensive couple of weeks.
