Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

From a newspaper I don't want to link to:

Blackpool assistant boss Steve Thompson is an early contender for the Carlisle job after Greg Abbott became the first managerial casualty of the season today.
It is understood that Blackpool are prepared to waive their right to compensation for Thompson, 48, who has twice stepped in as caretaker manager during his time at Bloomfield Road.
The former Bolton and Leicester midfielder became head of Blackpool’s youth department in 2005 before being promoted to first-team coach and assistant manager.

Carlisle have put Abbott’s No.2 Graham Kavanagh and youth team coach David Irons in temporary charge but are expected to bring in a new manager from outside the club.
Abbott paid the price for Carlisle’s poor record this season after picking up just two points from the first six games.
He was the third longest-serving manager in English football behind Arsene Wenger and Exeter boss Paul Tisdale, having been appointed in December 2008.

Michael Keane started, Harry Kane came off the bench, for England U21's tonight as the drew 1 -1 with Finland.

Have you got a beef with that paper, Jeff?

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

What surprises me most, apart from the obvious lie about him not being in Aberdeen anymore, is that he's only 28!!
But when he is plugged into the old sofa, he is 87

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

David Flitcroft also said today he believes Chris O'Grady can turn into a £2-3m player. "There's nothing like him in the Championship."
