Right here goes, I have a list of companies who all produce a range of different products.

Each row starts with the name of the company and then in the following cells is a list of products.

In total there are 279 rows/companies.

Is there anyway I can create a filter or table which will let me look for a specific product and then bring up the list of relevant companies?

Any help appreciated, I have been messing around with this for a hour now.

Try
control + Shift + L

Edit:

You have to select the whole worksheet by clicking topleft and then pressing these keys.

Then you can filter on the product column.

Hope that is what you meant

I dont think I have explained it properly.

Column A has all the companies listed in it.

If we take A2 as the first company, B2 has the first product, c2 the second product, d2 the third product etc. A Company in A3 would have products in B3, C3, D3, E3, etc.

This means that the same product, even in ahpabetical order could be in D4 for one company and F7 for another.

Is it possible for me to search the cells and get a list of companies who offer that product?

howzat?

Cheers thats exactly what I want to do, but with some companies having over 150 products it would take me too long to re-layout the order.

Thanks for your help though very much appreciated and will help me out in the future when starting databases. :038:

i wasn't saying rearrange manually...

you can use those formulae to rearrange the data...:icon_conf

and as a rule...never use column headers to store data, use column headers to display data
