Plymouth Argyle beat Brentford. That’s the only real big story this year isn’t it so far?
Is it even a big story? “Other 14” club changes half its starting lineup and gets beaten 1-0 by Championship side. Big fat meh. Yet it was first on MotD while several better games were relegated to the “oh yeah this also happened, almost forgot lol” section at the end.

I’m convinced I hate everything around football.

I think that one is a big story.

If I was a Brentford fan I'd be spitting blood right now. Frank has been there for ages & has demonstrated that he couldn't give 2 shits about the cups. It's baffling to me.
Brentford are nowhere near any relegation trouble, never going to win the league, extremely unlikely to trouble the top 4. You'd say Conference League would be the best they could do. So why on earth not at least try for a cup run? Give the fans something other than mid table solidity to get excited about.

They qualify as an established PL team now so FFS give it some sort of a go.

Lost to literally the worst away side in the entire EFL. ****ing hell.

Profit & loss. In pounds and pence, finishing two places higher in the league is worth more than winning the cup and playing in Europe.

We earned about 18 million euros from the europa league in 2021/22. That's just prize money and tv money.
Add in the revenue from the fa cup run, gate receipts, sponsorship etc, and it's way more than finishing two places higher in the league.

Bit ****in daft to go out on purpose then

It is possible that the Director decided that 20 minutes of TV fans looking at thick fog was not going to be riveting viewing, particularly as you could only clearly see one of the 8 goals, albeit it was the best one!

The early footage was hideous. When the first went in and the commentator described what had happened I thought “how the **** can you tell?”
