Why chance it?

Because our best players will benefit from not playing twice in a week and we have a massive squad with plenty of 'sufficient' quality in depth.

I'd play:

Jakupovic (looked very solid against Fleetwood twice and needs another game)
Simpson (back in training and ideal game for him to return)
Dragovic (first choice at moment but hasn't played much so should be fine)
Huth (ready and needs a game like this)
Fuchs (obvious choice)
Silva (obvious choice)
Iborra (obvious choice)
Gray (obvious choice)
Diabate/Barnes/Thomas (not fussed which but someone to balance the midfield)
Iheanacho (obvious choice)
Slimani (obvious choice)

So, 10 changes and the above team looks to me far too strong for Peterborough. 8 full internationals, plenty of experience, decent balance to the team, plenty of pace.

We could then also have Hamer, Benny, Musa, Ulloa, King + the two not picked from the above on the bench and we still won't have touched 10 starters for Everton.

How many full internationals did we have in our side when we played away at Fleetwood, where the width of a post saved us from a humiliating defeat?

Chucking together a load of players into a side that looks good enough on paper, doesn't necessarily translate to an effective team.

I know for a fact that we will put out another arrogant selection like we did against Fleetwood. I'm not even sure why I bought a ticket.

Schmeichel

Simpson
Benalouan (the guy amuses me)
Dragovic
Fuchs

Gray
Iborra
Silva
Albrighton (whoever performs best out of Albrighton and Gray gets the starting gig vs Everton)

Iheanacho
Slimani/Ulloa (whichever hasn't been sold or loaned out)

Bench (break glass in case of emergency): Jakupovic, Amartey, Chilwell, Maguire, James, Mahrez, Vardy.

Should be enough for a 2-1win.

Posh dumped Aston Villa out away by 3-1 and had over 20 shots.

You don't think they might be a bit pumped up on their own turf?

Start our strongest XI. If we are 4-0 or better off by half time, swap out any fragile ones that cannot recover in 4 days FFS!

It is only Everton the next game.

If we are going to progress beyond 7th, our players are going to have to be able to win nearly every game anyway.

Do NOT treat the Posh lightly.

Rest everyone and play the Yeovil 1st team in my opinion.

Our U23’s have important games coming up in the next 12 years and should be rested If possible.

I would also like to see us utilise the Newport County manager for this one as I don't see why our manager should have to use his tactical ability twice in a week.

I hope we have also made arrangements to use the Plymouth Argyle fans for this one so that ours can concentrate on the upcoming league game which is vastly more important.

On that note we should use the Barcelona team for the Everton game as it's too import imo.

Jakupovic

Amartey Dragovic Maguire Chilwell

Iborra Silva

Gray Okazaki Albrighton

Iheanacho

This will do. Get a few returning lads on the Bench along with Vardy and Mahrez.

I’d start Huth in place of Maguire if he’s fit enough but I’ve assumed he’s not ready yet

Gosh, could we do that??

I believe so

The PFA were the driving force behind the rule as they didn't want their members to be playing ludicrous amounts of football, up to two games a week has been recorded in some instances.

The idea is to utilise fresh players in FA Cup games from leagues that have a winter break.

I understand Rochdale have secured the Borrusia Dortmund goalkeeper due to their own 1st choice only getting 4 hours sleep last Tuesday night.

At first, I thought starting Iborra and Silva together as our central midfield pair was a little unwise/brave, but then I thought 'yes, why not?' As long as we have Ndidi and/or James on the bench should it not work out.

Oh, and make sure they've had a good night's sleep beforehand obviously ;)

Bring in the winter break I say. Players shouldn't be expected to play 3 league/cup games in a week. They should be getting a well earned rest in the US or Korea playing tournament football against the likes of Bayern 3 times a week.

I'm not sure if there is a slight hint of facetious undertone here but I'll bite...

It is widely accepted that South Korean mattresses are the finest in the whole of the Korean peninsula.

Sleep would be of a higher quality for the entire period that they are away having the winter break, hence Germany winning the 2018 world cup.

Against Peterborough, I would go for the experience of Fuchs over Chilwell as the better defender.

Our forwards and midfield should be much faster than them so we should have plenty of goal scoring opportunities.

Just got to keep them out at the other end.

Surely Andy King is nailed on for a start, and most likely captain, for this one?

He's got the experience and know how for these sort of games and I'm sure he'd be desperate to add an FA Cup medal to his domestic honours collection so is sure to put a shift in.

I'd go for a mix of youth and experience and leave the big guns on the bench like Vardy & Mahrez.
