Now we are all blessed wih 20/20 hindsight, :icon_roll :037: :107: :104: , and given all the circumstances under which they had/have to manage under which of the above Managers would you choose. ;) :icon_wink

would we choose for what Steven?

The question is knowing what we know now, would we choose any of the above? :icon_conf

I chose none of the above

Peter Taylor - Crap transfers
Harry Bassett - Not a decent manager in any sense
Micky Adams - Pensioners
Craig Levein - Unable to motivate

Although tempted to say none of the above I still think Micky did OK for a couple of seasons under difficult conditions so stands far above the other three for me.

What a choice :frown:

No vote from me

Which illustrates my point. All the CL out brigade are doing is asking the Board to go out and make another poor choice as manager of City. :icon_conf :icon_conf

why should the next choice be a poor choice just because the previous ones were? I see what your saying steven but those choices have been made by different boards not this one (except for cl of course), really im just playing devils advocat(sp).

I would like to ask any CL fan how long should he be given? If the current run continues we will be relegated well before the season ends. This is the critical time right now imo, if we leave it another 4 or 5 games then we might as well stick with him for the rest of the season , because nobody can be expected to turn it around with so few games left.

Why are you certain it is the Manager's fault?

Are you certain that if we change the manager now, then our results with this squad will suddenly change?

If you are not certain then you risk financial stability by 'throwing good money after bad', just because we are not winning. Maybe on a budget of less than £2 million to buy the whole squad and whatever wages they have now been screwed down to, you cannot get a good bunch of players to do well in this division.

steven you in a cul de sac, I sort of see why the board havent sacked craig because their is over fussyness on the replacement.

Peter Taylor - Did terrible for us with big resources and great team handed to him, out of the 4 managers he is my 2nd worst choice.
Harry Bassett - Handed a team in a rot and had no money, has great 2nd div experience (championship) achieved numerous promotions in this league and prepared us well for our promotion season with his striker acquisitions, he is my 1st choice.
Micky Adams - got us a promotion and we came close to staying up with a reasonably small budget, forced out with incredibly high expectations and the farce of the players contracts allowing them to leave hanging over his head. my 2nd choice.
Craig Levein - Has managed to get us into our lowest league position for a long long time, we are one our worst ever run since I started supporting the club and seems tactically inept with no motivational skills, his budget is large for the league we are in (5th highest) so putting all this into perspective I rate him as the worst out of the 4 managers. Last choice.

Concerning taylor although the plummet under him was large I wont blame him for the financial collapse of the club that is down to the board been careless with his transfer budget and sanctioning the contracts.

Who the feck voted for that twat Taylor.....:018: :018: :018:
I actually believe taylor is a good coach, he is no man manager and only did what he did with what he was given by the then board of the club. It wasnt me who voted him though.

Yes Brauny Blue.

Can you be certain a new manager with this squad will make a huge difference immediately?
If there is no evidence that CL has 'lost' the dressing room and the players think he is doing his best and they could not do better/try harder, why cause disruption and mayhem just in case a different manager might do better.

I have my doubts, regarding CL and his relationship with his players, there have been numerous rumours regarding alleged bust ups with players such as Dublin, Williams, Hume and Johansson, granted these as yet to be confirmed as 100% true, but surely if the players were 100% behind the gaffer then they would be fighting tooth and nail to save his job, based on current performance I would not say they are.

IMO yes he is responsible for the players he's bought to the club.
He is responsible for the tactics we set out to play, formations, substitutions, and general team morale.

I can't say he's lost the dressing room, but i do have a good link with the club and from what he tells me its not a happy ship down there.

why cause disruption and mayhem just in case a different manager might do better.

There is no guarantee that another manager would do any better, but after such a prolonged period of bad results you have to consider if its a gamble worth taking

Are you certain that if we change the manager now, then our results with this squad will suddenly change?

Of course not but as warnock stated a bad manager is found out when he gets into a slump of form and cant escape from it.

What appears certian to me tho is if craig stays we are playing in league one next season.

im still clinging to the fence by the finger nails plymouth game should see me drop off :icon_lol:
