Am I being optimistic or could we possibly be looking to sneak into the top half of the table by the end of the season?

Just lookig at the way things have changed and the way results are now going, surely we could realistically make up the 5 points to get into the top half!!!

Sheez if you had said that 6 weeks ago I would have sh1t my pants in excitement.

Top half IMO is realistic and a target to aim for. Nice to see a level headed target of acheivement from someone, as opposed to the "play off" numpties.

I don't think it's beyond us, but if we achieve it I'll be delighted.

As long as we finish 5 or more points above Hull, that's the aim for me. I'll be £80 richer.

Exactly. What does it matter?
Saying that, does anyone know if the Championship is like the Premiership in terms of money for where you finish in the league?
Don't know about the money thing.

As for where we finish. Surely it matters for confidence, pride, our status as a team compared to our competition, next years ST sales, and if nothing else bragging rights.

Of course it matters, well to me anyway. I am proud of my team, every position we climb is another proud moment in turning this club around

Nope, the Championship isn't the same.

fair enough. But personnelly, seeing as a month or so ago we looked like we were going down, i'll be happy with anything above 3 from bottom.

Indeed, that still has to be our main priority. But I am confident that era in Leicester City's history is just about finished. We are moving up in the right direction and the further we climb, the better the whole feel around the club

Spot on mate. Anything we get from this season must be seen as a bonus from here on in after the appauling run we were on.

I would have liked to finish above Cov, but like everyone else im just happy it looks like we will still be in the championship next season

I think this is fantastic, learning the way everybody thinks differently. To me, escaping relegation is the most important. After that, when relegation is no longer an option and we are mathematically safe, League position for me is very important. Better to go into next season finishing 12th than 21st

For me, most other teams are fairly irrelevant. I don't care where they finish. But I do understand why others care, it is human nature. After all, I consider very important we finish above for**t when they are in our league, but thats it.

But having said that, I would rather finish 7th with for**t 1 place above in 6th, than us to finish 20th with for**t 1 place below in 21st

It is possible that we would attract higher quality players if we finish 10th compared to if we finish 20th

I will be happy with survival, but looking realistically there is no reason we can't get a respectable place to finish now (unless the wheels well and truly come off!!!).

To my thinking, if we have a good run in we can say to potential players that for the last half of the season we were in promotion form and the push is to carry it forwards into the new season. That way we will have a chance to perhaps get players who will make those that leave look second rate (we hope, I still shudder at Junior's hype and the subsequent let down). Surely it is better to be able to show a 12th place fnish rather than 21st if we are looking to recruit quality for the future (as has been shown with some of our aquisitions and the development of academy players in the last couple of years).

Also it will make hanging on to the best of our young players easier if we have a good run in.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned wanting to finish above D***y!

Seriously though, I don't particularly care - as long as we are above say 18th we will have vastly exceeded expectations at Christmas. But a top-half finish would be great and gives the players something to aim for. Seeing the table on teletext and us on the same page as the play-off places would be a good morale booster for next year

If we avoid defeat at Millwall next week, then any threat of relegation should be over. Only then will i relax and start to think about where we will finish. Its dangerous to tempt fate when relegation is still a possibility.

I think finishing as high as possible is crucial. Not for future aquisitions, because I do not think there will be many, but to attract lots more Season Ticket holders next season.

It looks like, according to TD, that the Connolly bonus will cover the shortfall in gates this season, so there will be very little to spend on new players. Bringing in a few thousand extra STs will be crucial and a strong finish, playing in 'promotion form' would give a big boost to that.

RK as manager, I hope, will probably have to offload a couple to save wages to bring others in. He almost certainly will not have the luxury of two senior players covering each position. I expect that the likes of Chambers and the best of the senior academy players may well be providing cover for injuries and suspensions.

My one wish though would be if TD and the board would go back to Joey and match his Dutch contract, even if if a four year deal is very generous!

No point. Gudjonsson will get European Cup/Uefa cup football a salary that probably matches anything City would want to offer (and a beneficial tax regime) and six to eight truly competitive games a season. :icon_wink ;)

Don't think they'd be able to do this, Joey has already committed himself to AZ. He could be in legal trouble if he backs out now.
