They are easy to fit, BUT that depends on your skill level.
Keep in mind that some people struggle with Lego bricks.
Also if you don't know how to actually do it you could potentially make a complete balls of it & damage your PC irreparably.

I accept your point but I would have thought that anybody who had the confidence to unscrew a PC case would also have the skill to fit/replace such a card.

I'm inclined to say that if a non-technical duffer like me can do it, the anybody can - but I agree that there is the potential for a lot of expensive mayhem if you get it badly wrong. In practice it is a case of removing a few screws, sliding a card into an obvious slot and putting the screws back but if you're the kind of person who might forget to turn the power off first or you might panic at the sight of seemingly hundreds of criss-crossing wires and components, it's probably best to get somebody else to do it.
