These are the players in the first team squad whose faces seem to fit for Ollie and won't suffer the axe in Jan.

Goalkeepers: Alnwick

Defenders: Stearman, J Chambers, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Mcauley, Mattock, Sheehan

Midfield/Wing: Bori (loan), A Chambers, King, Wesolowski, Clemence, Oakley, Osbourne (loan), Lazcko (loan), Porter (inj)

Strikers: Howard, Hayles, Hume, Fryatt, Campbell (inj)

I don't mean to put flies into the post cov happy ointment.

But exempting youths and 'tards who are being loaned out, or asked to move on.....that is a very, very light squad (20 fit players). I have ommitted Gradel, Odhiambo, Hayes, Kenton, Kishishev, Sappleton as they are very unlikely to feature in the squad again this season. Youths such as Cox, RoweTurner etc are not first team squad members really. And by this time next week i imagine Devries, Maybury, Henderson will have followed, Cort, Newton, etc out of the door. I am also very uncertain that we'll see Sheehan in a city shirt again any time soon, although i've included him.

We've only one goalie, this week we are down to our only two eligible centre halves and have Only have 2 wide players in the squad. (Don't get me wrong, the squad is well on the turn from the sorry mess it was 6 weeks ago!
Centre Mid and centre forward are looking pretty rich at the moment, with two of five to be chosen from.

Does anyone else think we still need 4-6 more players moved on and at least 4 players (left back, right wing, centre back, goalie) in during the remainder of Jan? Or is that too much.
A run of 4 or 5 injuries and we could barely field a 'team' in Ollie's sense of the word at present.

it's just a question about how many players people think we still need, and how urgently really. nothing negative.

should really have just called it. we've only got 19 fit outfield first team squad players let's not get carried away!

I cant see Hendo going. He is poor but we wont be left with one keeper. Alnwick in for the remainder and then and proper search for a LCFC owned keeper in the summer at which point Hendo will leave and Logan will come back as number 3.

i found it telling though that ollie would rather have no goalie than hendo on the bench. not a positive sign for hendo's future at the club..

i think the squad is looking good if they are all fit, so it needs beefing up a little bit....basically we can now field a very good 11......and they are all in the right position

I'd bet it was for tactical reasons so Ollie can have more outfield choice to change things round. Nothing to do with not rating Henderson (even if Ollie doesn't!)

Just hope it doesn't backfire on us one day if Ben gets badly injured.

If there wasnt some distance to go then we would be top of the premier league but seeing as we are not then yes there is some distance to go with our 1st team.

About 116 miles on Saturday I reckon.....

Could this not just have been titled, 'Was anyone expecting anything more 2.0?' Since it seems just as stupid.
