Webbo, please do me a favour.

Me And DurhamFox are on the 9.04am train from Leicester and arrive at St Pancras @ 10.37am.

I'm all confused with this tube malarky, please sort me out the route from St Pancras.

Cheers

I'd advise you to avoid the tube completely, the obvious routes are closed tomorrow.

When you leave St Pancras follow the signs to Kings Cross Thameslink station (this is NOT the main Kings Cross Station, it's 5-10 minutes walk away).
From there you can get a train to London Bridge, where you can change for Charlton.
A return ticket costs £2.70.
If you have a train ticket to Charlton, (rather than just to St Pancras), I expect your ticket will be valid for this route, but I'm not 100% certain.

I'll be in a different pub (not so close to the ground)

Anyone traveling via London Bridge station should be prepared for an 'interesting' atmosphere, and a large police presence - Stoke and Millwall fans will be there at the same time.

'Although Charlton station is very close to the Valley, many people will find it easier to take the (far more reliable) tube. Using the Jubilee Line to get to North Greenwich station and then take a short ride on buses 161, 472 or 486 to get to the ground'.

To get to the Jubilee from KX-SP you take the Victoria southbound and change at Green Park. Then take the Jubillee in the direction of Stratford and follow the instructions above. ;-)

Good luck. :-? :-?

In my experience the tube is less reliable than 'proper' trains. Every time I go to London there seems to be at least one line that's closed due to an 'incident'.

The tube route also sounds a lot more complicated, will take a lot longer, and their train tickets won't be valid for that route.
But I'm sure it will be worth it if it means you avoid being in the middle of a five way battle between the police, Stoke, Millwall and Leicester hooligans, and notebook wielding train spotters.

If they get a Travelcard it will cover all the ticketing in terms of tubes trains and/or busses. ;-)

You are absolutely right. I only suggest this route as a means of avoiding trouble. Still it is not a 100% guarantee, but I think safer than being near Charing X or other train stations. ;-)

I don't know what all the fuss was about. I caught the Thameslink, and there was no hassle at London bridge at all

I don't know about the pub, but I'm sure our boys were all sat in the Wing Shing round the corner from the ground having a full chinese banquet like a bunch of girls

They will all deny it, of course, but I saw them. I would never make up such a story
