Hope this is true, a few million for Fryatt is good as next season we will see that he is a league 1 player. We could spend the money on a proven striker and laugh when we see Fryatt firing wide from 2 yards out in the prem.

He could get found out in this league.

As much as he's did for us last season, he still frustrated me at times.

Wouldn't be the end of the world.

Yh thats true. I know what you mean by being frustrated at times. I still rekon we need to purchase 2 new strikers, so some money for fryatt would be good...but i wouldnt mind keeping him here for the beginning of the season to see if his recent confidence and form runs into next yr....can still sell him at xmas if he's not up to it

You're right, I'm sure he'll be in demand from Premier League clubs if he's had a poor first half of the season in the Championship.

i didn't actually specify what league we could sell him to. But thanks for your input jeff.

He signed a big money contract a few months ago, not many clubs outside the Premiership will be able to afford his wages.

If you think it's that easy to sell players why is DJ Campbell still here when I'm sure NP would like to have sold him 6 months ago?

Great wisdom in my opinion.

In fact, I understand that overnight a queue of strikers who scored 30 goals plus last season at the same or higher levels than Fryatt now stretches several times around the Walkers.

All these strikers are mad keen to sign for City and are backed by their clubs who don't want to stand in their way of joining a massive club like Leicester and won't spoil things by charging any sort of fee.

Yes Harbro Fox, it would be so easy to replace our top goal scorer - everybody knows that.

I tend to agree with Redditch. Though I am not totally convinced by Fryatt, it would be folly to sell him without a convincing replacement in mind. It's one thing to be a top scorer with 15 goals, quite another to be so with 30. It must denote some quality and ability! Just like everyone else I saw him miss sitters as well but according to one poster (newton?) he was playing with an injury/in pain, so you have to take these things into account. You also have to give him a chance to prove himself in the championship. He was pretty useful in his first season there.
The team that finished champions and the best team by far in the championship in 2007/08, WBA, let their 30 goal top scorer go. They were relegated the following season.
I'm not saying this would happen to Leicester, but they need to get an extra striker in for competition to, not as a replacement to, Fryatt. If he misses sitters galore next season - he can warm the bench for a while would be my policy.

Its a big season for Fryatt imo. No more excuses, he should have enough experience, and is now at an age where he has to deliver. If he fails he should enjoy the rest of his career, in either the championship or league 1.

The problem I have with Fryatt is that yes, whilst he scored 30 goals, how many of those were scored AFTER he signed his new contract?

why does it matter when he scored the goals? if he is capable of scoring 30 goals he is obviously a more than competent striker. perhaps if people got off his back we would see him play better. I can't believe people are still so quick to pass judgement on fryatt when he is one of the main reasons that we got promotion. the guy is a very good finisher and with good service next year I am convinced that he will do the same again.

It would be a shame to lose him after his first really productive season but I wouldn't be as gutted as when Muzzy or Dickov left. I don't see why Campbell couldn't replace him, I know he's been acting like a knob and is well out of favour with NP but getting him back and playing as well as he can would be like having a new player. We'd still need one more striker though, if the budjet is tight hopefully any money from this proposed Matty deal will be spent wisely.
