Inept but upper management won’t give the chop whilst we keep salvaging something. They have to know that this is going nowhere though right?

Here’s a question... is Martin O’neill Totally spent as a manager? For me he has to be a consideration as a free agent? Is that Barking? I feel it might be, but still better than Poo-hell.

It’s hard to tell because he’s been working with such a bad Ireland team for the last few years. The Premier League has moved past managers like him though, it might generate some atmosphere for a few weeks but we’d be better off with Pearson to be honest and that’s saying something.

It would be crazy to get rid of Puel at this stage I’m afraid.

I think he’s hopeless, made that clear, but there are a lot of excuses and context that provide him a lot of cover. And the results are ok. It won’t be until we are either

A. In real trouble
Or
B. Definitely safe and looking to next season (if they don’t move on this summer I’ll rip my own eyes out).

The football is still rubbish but the results are decent enough. The club needs a breather and the last thing they should or will do is throw things into chaos again.

Which Mahrez would that be?
The one that played a big part in us winning the league?
The one that only turned up to play in the Champions league the following season?
Or, the one that couldn't really be arsed to turn up last season?
Not had a good WUM on here in ages.

Not relitigating this argument with you. If you can’t see how a player of Mahrez’ quality improves a team I’ve nothing for you.

Ghezzal and Diabate for feck's sake? No thanks. Gray or Iheanacho neither. Ditto Okazaki. All can go for me.

I suppose the counter here is Maddison. He’s no Mahrez but has at least chipped in with goals, set pieces and assists.

In terms of width, yeah, we are hopeless. Only Albrighton looks effective. Gray, Ghezzal, and Diabate just don’t look good enough to me. Andros would have been a better signing.

When he can be arsed, I fully agree
Not worth shingvto add too much to fuel your stupid question but...

...a quarter arsed Mahrez is more creative and dynamic than any other player we currently have.

When he couldn't be arsed he was still better than Diabate, Silva, Iborra, Gray, Ghezzal and a whole host of other shite we have at our disposal. Honestly, I thought your defending of Puel's approach to today's match was odd; dismissing Mahrez and the massive black hole he has left needs to be filed in the '****ing wibble' folder.

I’ve only seen a little bit of Fulham this season but even I could tell you that they are completely shite down the flanks. Christie is an awful player and what do you know, he left oceans of space in the right back position in the first half as he went wondering off. Who was there to exploit that space? Fousseni Chuffing Diabate. Just remarkable isn’t it?

Located between the ‘loooool’ folder and the ‘fave monster munch’ folder.

I wasn't dismissing Mahrez' talent, I was dismissing his attitude.
Myself and many on here (Some actually went to some of the games as well) were getting rather peeved off with his "play when I want attitude"
As for filing my comments in the "****ing wibble" folder, wow! If you feel the need and it makes you feel better, you crack on sunshine.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. That was the worst of the season for me. Okay, I have seen poorer performances (not by much) but this was so much worse for lots of other reasons. It was so obvious that we had no goal threat from the beginning and that the side was completely unbalanced. It became even more glaringly obvious after 15 minutes but we didn't change a damn thing to try and rectify the situation; personnel, shape, intensity, attacking style... nothing. We then allowed it to continue after half time without changes. It was so utterly obvious that some of these players are as perplexed and/or frustrated by our approach to matches as many fans are

I hated everything about that game. We were so lucky to come out of it with anything at all.

Just on the tube after the game. I have no idea how we got a draw from that. The second half in particularly was one of the worst halves of football I’ve ever seen us play, yet we somehow won it 1-0.

Mind numbingly boring football. Passing was dreadful from goalkeeper to striker.

Imagine how good this team could be if we had a decent manager.

Those of us who went to all of the games probably have a better understanding then. Like I said, he was miles better than what we have now, even when he wasn't on song. We've strayed somewhat from the point; none of this makes Puel any better though. Even with Mahrez I fear we'd still be dull a dish water and less effective under this guy.

I’m going to file that game under “s” for shite.

How anybody views Diabate as worthy of a starting place in the team is beyond me. The fact that it’s somebody paid by the club to make those decisions is astounding.

Not a bad argument, but be careful you don't get blinkered vision.
Not too many years ago, some were going to drive a crap Jamie Vardy to WBA themselves, for the £5m they were offering ;)
