It may be a false memory but I have the idea that when Shilton ran toward the Kop at the start of the second half they applauded him.

No false memory there. Liverpool fans had this habit of applauding both Banks and Shilton. It started with their admiration of the former as part of the World Cup winning team and with both of them performing heroically in games up at Anfield, it became something of a tradition.

No false memory there. Liverpool fans had this habit of applauding both Banks and Shilton.

Could well have been a false memory if it was Old Trafford.
