Any chance of a character assessment of Gerry by those who know him? On the radio, he comes across as being a chap with integrity and common sense. I know he has some coaching qualifications too so could he be the real positive in the current quagmire?

Any official word yet on his role within the club? I know the papers before had said first team coach, but the OS and Sky Sports reported that his role has not yet been confirmed?

I just hope he doesn't get caught up in the mess if it all goes arse-up. I'd very interested to see how he develops as a coach now he has the opportunity. I wonder if Tamworth are due some compensation as I thought Gary Mills had just signed up Taggs as player/coach.

Oh and here's little known fact. Certainly up until recently, Taggs was competing as a Masters swimmer and a pretty impressive one by all accounts. That alone makes him a pretty sound chap in my book!

I know someone who's involved at Tamworth and he certainly thinks they should be in for some cash.

Well he was a very good swimmer when he was younger so really it would come as no surprise.

Same as masters footballers i.e. for sportsfolk who still have a competitive spirit but who are too old (over 25 in swimming I think, dunno about footie) and no longer good enough to compete at top level.

Would Megson have worked with him whilst GM was coaching for Tony Pulis at SToke?

Taggart will bring passion, commitment and hard work, but please don't under estimate his credentials, he has taken coaching badges although I am unsure as to whether he has gained all as yet, he was Assistant to Johan Boskamp at Stoke and has carried out coaching duties, so he has experience and at championship level. So this isn't the take a risk on a unproven ex legend that some are alluding to and I for one do not believe this has been a PR stunt, I genuinely believe that Taggs has been identified because of his passion and commitment to the City cause but also because he has a good football brain.

He has very similar characteristics to Roy Keane, was hard player on the pitch and had a real winners attitude and if he can mould that with a more refined managerial approach as Keane has managed to do then we could have a very good coach / manager at our club in future years.
