I really didnt think I would ever answer yes to this question but I have. Well played this season Keith!

Probably a Yes for me,we can't get rid of everybody and Gillespie falls into the OK bracket IMO.

It could be that his performances have improved recently because his contract is due to end soon and he's trying to make sure he gets a new deal, either at Leicester or somewhere else.

So I think he should be offered a fairly low basic wage, with add ons for performances, to give him an incentive to play well and keep his place in the team.

Did anyone read that letter in the Fox from the man who had sat behind the players and managers area.......Gillespie was on his moblie throughout the entire game, only Pieman watched the whole 90 minutes and none of the players showed any interest in our goal...so whilst Gillespie has undoubtedly improved I still think his commitment to the club is virtually non existant.

Will this be based on the ratings from SheffieldFox?

That is awful although not unexpected sadly.

I really don't see the point in keeping gillespie. he no longer has any passion for the game, and even though his performances may have improved a little recently, he still isn't doing his job. When has gillespie ever beat his man and more importantly put top quality balls into the box?-the answer is rarely. Why anyone would want to keep your typical example of a journey man is beyond me

Against Gillingham?

Gillespie has obviously underperformed in the last few years. But he's had some good performances recently, so maybe CL is the man who can get the most out of him.
We're also now playing in a way that suits wingers (something MA said he would be doing this season - but we never saw the evidence), so I think it's worth giving Gillespie a chance.

Unbelievable post

Gillespie started and inspired the move for the first goal last Saturday (one of the best team goals we've scored in eons)
Gillespie floated a magnificent ball into the box for the second goal on saturday
And when we nearly let them back into the game by truly appalling defending, I think you'll find it was Mr Gillespie who was tracking back to stop them from scoring into an open goal

Unbelievable

so your sayin that just because gillespie has played one good game and created one goal he deserves a new contract-now thats unbelievable

The point that he clearly demonstrated his passion on Saturday
The point is he beat his man a few times on Saturday (One instance of which we subsequently scored from)
The point is he put in some quality crosses on Saturday (one of which we ascored from)

But it's not just one game.

He's played well for most of the games he's been back in the team.

Are you suggesting we should get rid of players as soon as they start playing well?

IMO Keith has been one of our best players since CL has taken over. He sometimes fails to track back but his deliveries at the other end make up for this.

I would give him a year extension, this way he will still be playing for a contract next season and therefore might play to the same standard as this season, instead of the dross we had to put up with from him before CL.

I really can't see where your coming from-gillespie brings little or nothing to the game he isn't a creative spark at all and he nevers puts more then two crosses in per game and your lucky if one of those is decent-Stewart played alot better then gillespie at the weekend imo

I hold my hands up & admit I didn't think much of Gillespie early in the season & I thought he played asthough he didn't want to be here, but under CL he's making a steady improvement.

I don't think he's ever going to be a consist player who puts in performances every week, but he is a flair player & can change games. Providing the wages are right I think he's worth another year.

Keep him, he has looked good more than he has looked bad. He looks to be working well with Maybury too.
