When you've got defenders running back like that, the intelligent thing for strikers to do is hold back so they've got space.
And there are those strikers who gamble by getting themselves in the matter and anticipating a cross. Especially when there are so few defenders in the box and the cross goes right across the face of goal. I'm not just criticising Nacho, there wasn't a single white shirt prepared gamble and that has been a major problem for us for a while now.
 
It's been exactly the kind of game I expected. Messy, devoid of any really quality. It's just a very typical cup game.

Nacho, Mendy and McAteer have done well enough. That's about where it ends really.
 
It's one of those where everyone needs to be on the same wavelength. Personally I like the cutback approach but ultimately its down to the coaching to tell the entire squad to go for one or the other so there's no confusion...
 
Nacho ruined every attack in the last 10 mins.. trying to keep possession and he kicks it straight out :-)
