Where are all the usual suspects on the Cricket forum at the moment? I'm missing Redditch's doom and gloom :icon_wink

Looks like McDonald will be available tomorrow if his plane arrives in time, and Kadeer Ali will be making his debut. So a batting line up of Jefferson, Boyce, Ali, McDonald, Cobb, Dixey with White and/or Naik.

Considering that we have Taylor (Lions), Nixon (not fully fit), New (injured), Smith (Uni) and Thakor (school) all unavailable (and Du Toit seemingly dropped tomorrow) we now have a lot of batsmen - shame that none of the combinations seem to work!

Du Toit dropped indeed.

Gloucs 0-1 from 2nd ball of match.... Now 41-1 from 16 overs.

Overcast skies so another couple of wickets before lunch required!

One more wicket after a rain delay, but now another stoppage. 84/2

143-3 a few showers about only 40 overs bowled so far

Gloucs now 280 - 3.

This season just gets worse!!

Only 1 win against county opposition thus far.

Yes, you are right, hadn't thought of that. The season is slipping away fast. I still don't think we are a million miles away from a similar level of performance in the championship as last year but looks like we will need to rely on similar post-Twenty20 form. Just two championship tons (both for Jefferson) and one five-for tell a story. Forget the 40 over stuff, County seem to have done.

At least Taylor did well today for the Lions - opening no less, what was that about - but just makes him even more likely to be missing for some games if he gets, say, an England ODI chance.

At least we got a hundred today, well done Matt Boyce hope that's a bit of a breakthrough for him. Horrible collapse though, need 39 off hoggy and Malik tomorrow to avoid follow on and maybe set up a run chase later in the day!

following on only lasted a couple of overs this morning

Promising stand between Jefferson and Ali ended in the over just before lunch 69/2. I predict about 180 all out.

Naik and Dixey have put on 70 so far for the 6th wicket, which means Glous wil bat again. up until then 180 looked a good shout

100 stand, match drawn. Well played both of them. Jigar is turning into a bit of an allrounder.

Taylor's going to have another chance to impress the selectors as well, Sri Lanka getting a decent lead going

England Lions 493/8d

Sri Lankans 266 & 303/3 (f/o) (68.4 ov)
