Same question for the FA Cup alone.

QPR I think in the late 60's, they beat Arsenal in the League cup final, and I am pretty sure Swindon did the same as well.

Wimbledon's in the FA Cup - 1988. I understand a club has never won the FA Cup as a third tier team.

Then us in the League Cup and after that Luton Town won the League Cup in '88. Oxford United won it in '86. But if you are saying club to have won the League Cup whilst in the Third tier when it's QPR or Swindon.

1967 - QPR beat West Brom in the League Cup Final, making them the first third division club to win a major final at Wembley. (They had knocked us out in the 4th round)

1969 - Swindon beat Arsenal to repeat the feat.


The early league Cup finals were two-legged affairs and with many of the top teams not entering, several lower league teams won it.
