If you class "original" as writing their own songs and having their own sound, then yes, I would say they were original.

Another of my favourite metal bands at the moment (though not my favourite track, in fact deliberately a weak one) nothing Original of course.

My preferred music is Progressive rock which I guess is obvious from this choice.

Early Genesis is untouchable and maybe original.

What about Gothic Metal - forget Marilyn Manson, prefer paradise lost or charon but these are unique (though not original). Original singer's vocals are epic!
