I don't blame the bus company at all for this. They are only covering their backs in a time when there are a significant number of people who will sue anyone for any little misdemeanor.

This is one of the main causes of a lot of our problems at the moment. The 'compensation culture' is responsible for lots of the H&S rulings that in another age would be considered totally ridiculous.
