They won it though - very late.

There'll be all sorts of redoubling of efforts going on, no doubt.
.
I wonder if they're a smashing bunch of lads? If not, he should get Rob Kelly in to sort them out. No one would be trying hard than him to sort it out.

Unbelievable

You jammy, jammy feckers

Jammy yes Homer - but a sure sign of the misery that is going to engulf Scotland whether managed by the highly inspiring and charismatic Levein or any other future dummy.

His post match interview brought it all back. Victories overcoming adversity in epic games played against the cones at Belvoir Drive etc etc.

Before the game the manager told them there are no easy games in international football these days.

But they thought surely this match would be different, against a team full of players who don't even play in a proper league. They thought they just had to turn up and their opponents would roll over and submit. They took it easy, and paid the price by conceding that late goal. Liechtenstein won't make that mistake again.

Well done Scotland for getting a result against a better team.

In all seriousness, this particular game illustrates a problem and a possible solution in that European competitions are cluttered up with matches between countries / club representatives that should not be involved at these levels

If these were cut out and the countries/ clubs involved were placed in subsidiary competitions without the automatic right to disrupt domestic competitions by being able to call up players from their clubs, there would be a hell of a lot less blank Saturdays in the league programmes, and a lot less meaningless international fixtures.

UEFA should merge with the EBU and adopt the model they use for the Eurovision Song Contest
