If i wanted to teach myself to use some basic graphics software, what would people recommend? The obvious one is photoshop, but is there one more suitable for beginners that i can learn on?

Ta.

I use paint shop pro, it does pretty much anything you would want to do, and if you go for a slightly older version it's dead cheap.
I use version 8, which you can get for less than a tenner from ebay.

Yes, yes, yes - but can you be sure that you're not buying it from Fludee?

I would go along with all of that, I keep geting bollocked at work for not using the "company assigned solution for editing images that costs shit loads" and reverting to Paint Shpo Pro ver 9, it went downhill from ver 10 onwards btw.

Hihly recommended for a (legal) freebie install as well is paint.net absolutely superb for **** all.
