Also down to them being a bunch of tossers - can't just have a go at the manager.

If they can play like they did against Fulham and Villa, then why can't they do it against the truly crap sides that we play in the Championship ?

The players themselves should take most of the blame

Well, I think the management need to make sure the players ARE up for each and every game. I don't buy the 'we find it hard to break teams down who come to defend' nonsense either, it's the same with all clubs surely? Derby County seem to be coping ok and IMO they only have a couple of better players than we do when we're at our best.

The players need a smack in the face for sure, which, again, is a managing issue.

correct, they arn't proffesional enough to raise their own games. i wouldnt need a fecking manager to tell me to play good every game so why should those overpaid wankers

I think you may be underestimating the job of a manager here.

not true, they have a far better standard, that is why they are where they are. they are obviously better because they win games week in week out, we never have with this squad. look at lupoli, he is MILES better than anything we have to offer upfront.

my heart is now bleeding after saying that

Lupoli is mostly on the bench...its normally Stead and Howard upfront. I'd like to seen Steve Howard at the Walkers, bit brute strength up front, scores goals and gives some effort.

Someone will be leaving with Fagan joining surely

exactly, look at their sgtrength in depth upfront, we havnt got one goal scorer.

Yes we have, he is called Matt Fryatt but unfortunately like most of the squad he appears to have lost all interest this season.

I think (as much as I hate the sheep too) they are not 'much' better than us at all. Lupoli is off the bench now and again, they have a cracking youngter and a solid CF, but in the summer if we'd been given the choice of having Fryatt or Howard I reckon a lot of us would have wanted to stick with Fryatt.

sorry but he has never been a real goalscorer for us.

And neither was Lupoli, but Billy Davies has managed to get the best out of him since he signed for Derby. Where as Fryatt has failed to live up to last seasons high standards, as has been clearly evident over the last 3 or so seasons our managers have failed to get the best out of the resources available where as managers like Davies continually seem to get the maximum out of his squads wherever he manages.

Fryatt was tipped by many pundits to be a rising star and his goalscoring record at Walsall and with us last season showed he was more than capable of making a real impact with us this season, but like so many of the players signed since relegation, they have failed to live up to expectation or potential.

i agree, but surely that means that they are not good enough. living on past performances and supposed talent that never actually comes through is not good enough.

Disagree, many of the signings made through the Adams and Levein era's looked like decent signings early on in their City careers, but a mixture of poor motivation, lack of discipline, negative tactics and poor coaching has meant that IMO a number of talented individuals have stagnated or gone backwards in their time at the club.

Stephen Hughes, David Connolly, Matty Fryatt, Ryan Smith, Gareth Williams to name a few have failed to live up to reputation or potential, coincidently all are classed as attacking players and seemed to have been hindered and nullified by negative team selections and hoof ball tactics.
