Grimsby on the brink....

It looks like it's building up to be some atmosphere in Cleethorpes on Saturday and similar to Hillsborough there could be some blubbering by the home fans if Grimsby don't win. Barnet on the other hand could still lose and save themselves the following week if Grimsby don't beat Burton and they beat Rochdale.

There are very few tickets left for the game on Saturday on the Grimsby OS and it will be a full house from both sets of fans

Here is a police message for all Barnet supporters travelling to Blundell Park on Saturday for the crunch League 2 match against Grimsby Town....

Barnet fans will only be able to gain entry to the match at the HARRINGTON STREET entrance by NEVILLE STREET and not via the usual CONSTITUTIONAL AVENUE entrance on GRIMSBY ROAD. Tickets will be sold at the Harrington Street entrance.

As announced earlier this week, Barnet supporters will be accommodated in the OSMAN STAND seating at Blundell Park. There is provision for 1,400 Barnet fans.

The Grimsby ticket office reported yesterday being "absolutely swamped" with customers booking tickets for Saturday's game. The club are expecting around 6,500 home fans --- over 5,000 have now been issued for Town's last home game of the season.

One hundred Grimsby fans were at Accrington Stanley to see the Bees lose 1-0. The Barnet away support was 76. Two coachloads are anticipated for Saturday.

Those supporters wishing to take advantage of 'early bird' prices at Blundell Park should call the Grimsby ticket office on 01472 605050 by 5 p.m. on Friday.

Looks like Grimsby took more to Barnets game at Accrington than Barnet did themselves:icon_bigg

I TRAVELLED the two and bit hours to Stanley with Mighty Mariner aka Andy Carr, my little brother, 2 school of excellence players and two others. The feeling was surreal: we were going to support another team and not the Mariners, yet we were all in Town colours.

Joining up with other Town/Stanley fans in the Crown pub was an amazing sight, two sets of fans in League Two coming together to support one team. They welcomed us with open hands and made us feel like we was at an home game.

On 73 mins Stanley substitute Billy Key put Stanley ahead when he linked up well with Symes to slot the ball behind the Barnet keeper.

The Mariners fans along with Look North’s Phil Norton erupted in the Clayton end and along with Stanley fans celebrated like the Mariners had just taken the lead. With everyone singing "we're having a party when Grimsby stay up"

A final mention to my lil bro Jord, BBC Look North’s Phil Norton, Nilo, GTFC drummer Gilly, Kaz, Jordan, Josh, Walker, Flash and Padge who along with all the other Mariners fans who made the journey were a credit to our club. The Stanley Ultra’s and Accrington Stanley FC who made every single Town fan welcome and made our night a night all of us will remember forever.

In the picture the old guy(mascot) looks a bit like Bernie

7,033 turned up

Injury time with 2 of the additional 5 minutes to go

EDIT 2-0 to The Mariners now and supporters are on the pitch they think it's all over ................

Going to be very tough for them still, Barnet at home to Rochdale who are playing shite at the minute!

Currently 3-0 down to Burton Albion, whilst Barnet are drawing 0-0 with Rochdale. That's them down then. Shame in my opinion.

Barnet winning 1-0 now so its bye bye Grim:icon_sad:sby

And Grimsby fans are losing their heads and looks like its gonna kick off at the Perelli Stadium

Looked pretty bad on the BBC when they showed the Grimsby fans confronting the Police and stewards - looked they were throwing parts of the advertising hoardings and other items.

You would have thought they would have gone down with better grace after spending 100 years in the League

Got a soft spot for Grimsby, a good club who did so well in the First Division for years. I hope they will be back in the Football League soon.

Rochdale might be on a bad run, but it's not quite as bad as Barnet's, they've lost their last six games.

Barnet should have won 4 or 5....Dale were on their holidays. Shame we can't do League 2, Underhill is a quality awayday. Also found a player who consider the best I've seen at this level this season, Albert Adomah. Similar to Lloyd Dyer but possess better technique.
