While you are a Virtuoso on the Five fingered Organ..

To answer your question seriously Shaun I used to play the guitar...badly

I am the proud owner of a Yahama Pacifica and Marshall Amp.

I enjoy playing Rhythm as opposed to lead. The only lead guitar I enjoy playing is famous intro's (sweet child, thunderstruck, smoke, sandman etc etc)

Rhythm style and influence: Malcolm Young

I have a pair of Stanton str8-80's

I have a Gibson Les Paul Standard in Cherry Sunburst. Can't play the fecker though :icon_redf

Teach yourself, I did, there are plenty of sources of information on the net although I bought some books aswell.

I've got 5 guitars at the minute =/

I thought myself to a reasonable level quite quickly but gave up and am back to pretty much square one now :frown:

When I was teaching myself I found it quite hard for about the first year, it's frustrating more than anything when you can't play anything but the only way to get there is spend time practising. I think I must have been playing about 5 or 6 years now and I'm okay for a self taught player. I can pull off the kind of music I like to listen to (including the solos and flashy stuff :)) but it isn't really that hard when you get used to it, it's guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Steve Vai that are worlds apart - that stuff does take some time to get that to a tea=/

You just start with the basics as you will read anywhere but not only that it's having the patience to stick with it while you're crap.. if you get what I'm saying..

Are they better than Technics?

No, but they are a better and cheaper alternative for a rank amateur like me. ;)

I used to play a DX7 in a band years ago but sold it when I got married. (Bad move) (The selling bit....)

I still play the bass to anoy the neighbours but can't quite play the regular guitar thing well.

I want to play more than I want to learn :icon_sad:. (I'm too hamfisted anyway, the strings are too close together, etc etc...)

I saw Van Halen about 15 years ago. I have never seen anybody play a bass quite like Michael Anthony. To say the Jack Daniels Bass solo was the best live bass performance i have ever seen is a massive understatement
