That’s your lot folks! Happy new year, thanks for reading and please keep voting throughout the second part of the season.

Keep it up shef.

Getting rid of Harper was another one of DB great moves. Nearly as good as getting rid of sturage.

yeh, idiot - gemmils contract runs out and he says will give him another month, let the new manager see what he thinks of him - harpers loan spell runs out and hes told to sod off

reading between the lines - 'gemmils the sort of older experienced professional i love to work with for the sole reason that i never got over the mid 90s premiership era hence the reason micky adams under my influence has assembled a squad capable of a top 6 premiership finish back in 95/96 cos i see my role at this club being to take it on a massive nostalgia trip back to when god was good, boys were boys, sheep were nervous and i was palace manager'

Harper's loan spell didn't finish - he left before the end. And it was Harper's decision to leave. Bassett said he couldn't guarantee him a starting place, so Harper went mardy and went back to Portsmouth. Do you really think we should put up with players who think they have the right to be in the team?

And Bassett made the right decision to keep Gemmill for another month (whether we like it or not), because the new manager did want to keep him.

I think we played some of our best football this season under Bassett and Wilkinson, they were certainly better than Adams. Bassett dropped Scowcroft (which Adams would never have done), and also gave Stearman a chance (probably a lot sooner than MA would have done), so I don't think we can blame Bassett for the mess Adams left us in.

One thing that worries me is that most of the regulars seem to be in the bottom half of the Half-Season Lowdown table. :?

I agree with you Webby. No player can be guarenteed a place in the team, but Harper was good, I know he was injury prone and only came out a few times, But as long as he was performing why should he not be in the team.

Funny one with MA though isn't it Webbo, while I agree he left us in a mess, he also in many ways saved us from a much larger mess when we gained promotion.
