He won't sign for us until his contract at Hearts expires, which will be at the end of June, so he won't be our player until then.

What he can do now is sign an agreement to say that he'll be joining us when his current contract expires.

Anyone got an idea what would happen if he got a bad injury playing for Hearts. Would we still have to sign him because of the pre contract?

I would imagine the pre-contract agreement is based on him passing a medical when his contract at Hearts expires.
