Hello, don't worry have come in peace and need to ask you folks for some hlp. I have a mate who worked with someone in the army in about 1996-8 and he told me that his sort of mate was playing in the park where your reserves were playing and he was spotted and invited for a trial, whilst having a trial he was offered a contract by the Foxes and said that he was offered an obscene amount of money because spurs were interested, now he told me that his mate was offered around 25000 a week, yes 25000 a week which I think is a complete load of poo, infact the whole thing smells off poo but he is certain that this has happened and he has mates to back him up.

What I'm basically asking is do you know of anybody who sounds like this chap, by the way he failed a medical and has never been seen since so it backs up my facts that he is telling little porky pies but after 3 hours of arguments I'm sick of it.

So if you can help, Ill sign on your hated rival website and slag them off in my Norwich colours for you.

I did say that it was boring and that I do think it is toss. infaact I fell like a real combine driving twat. I don't know any details at all like I said its rubbish but wanted some confirmation

Our reserves don't play in parks, they play at the training ground or football grounds.

I don't think any of our players were earning anything like that kind of money at that time.
The only players who did end up earning that kind of money a few years later were either established 'stars', Matt Elliott, Muzzy Izzet etc, or big money signings such as Ian Walker.

And Martin O'Neill would have been our manager at the time, he never made any quick decisions abour signing a player, he'd spend weeks thinking about it. We had Malcolm Christie on trial for a week from Nuneaton, but O'Neill couldn't make his mind up and asked for another week, and he ended up at Derby, so it sounds highly unlikely he'd offer anyone a contract as quickly as your friend seems to think, and certainly not on that kind of money.



If it had been a few years later it sounds exactly the sort of thing Peter t*yl*r would have done!
