People who were supporting City 20 years ago may recognise that as the reply that the Indian takeaway owner gave in answer to the question about a new curry - other people who have not heard of David Currie and his meetings with City defenders probably won't know (or care) what I am talking about.

That joke was aired on the cover of an early edition of the fanzine For Fox Sake and that edition together with an even earlier one has just turned up on Ebay - eBay item #190194823323

Anybody still got any old FFSs, or even a few copies of Where's the Money Gone stashed away? Other than those and The Fox, have there been any other City fanzines?

Yes I have in the loft. I was given loads of City programmes from that era as well as this brilliant fanzine. I'd a flick through and it rolled back the memories. Now stored in the loft with the other 3 hundred odd programmes.

It's when you consider the 'briefness' (both in terms of longevity and content) of most fanzines, that you realise how successful The Fox has been.

I've got a few non-Fox ones stashed away too. No doubt they'll be worth absolutely nothing in 50 years time.

I've also got a copy of one called something like 'Up the Left Wing' ?? Can't remember without going in the loft. It was an attempt to combine City related humour with socialist political comment.

Surprisingly, this one didn't last a second issue, as far as I'm aware. Pity. I was looking forward to reading the 2nd editions player interview with Ali Mauchlen's views on Dialectical Materialism.

I found a Fox Fanzine last night by chance.

It was the summer 1992 edition and had a featured interview with oooh Tommy Wright, he left about a week later. :icon_cry:
