A quick straw poll among my colleagues here has delivered the consensus that I'm not remarkably dumb.

They're building up your confidence. Don't take them too seriously :icon_lol:

Thinking of sending this to Jack

As I pointed out, even after Ben Mee's first game, he is a much better footballer than Hobbs.

They are both good defenders but Mee can play football.

I agree with Sven.......

"Ben is a good football player and he uses his brain," said Eriksson. "He doesn't fight with his opponent all the time, he is very clever. Ben is doing brilliantly for us and getting better and better with every game. I knew him from my time at Manchester City so I knew he was a very good player."

As for Hobbs, I also fully agree with Sven.....

"I think this will make him stronger," said Eriksson.

"It will be good for Jack. He is young, he is our player and he needs to play football. He is a good talent and you don't know how good he could be in the next couple of seasons. It is good for him.

"Of course he has been unlucky but, if you play at centre-half, you can't afford many mistakes. The only way to learn is to go and play and play. He will learn because he has many good sides of his way of playing. I had seen him on TV and on DVDs but I didn't know much about him when I joined the club. I knew he had a great season last year.

"He is strong and his technique is not bad at all. It is good for us and him. I hope he will get plenty of games at Hull, more games than he would have had here."

"There were some worries inside the club about him going to Hull because they are doing well. But I think he should go to a good club, if he has the chance to play," said Eriksson.

"I don't think the manager of Hull would have asked him if he hasn't got plans to play him. It is good for Jack.

"We loan him out but we do it for him and for ourselves as well. We want him to develop through playing as much football as possible.

"He still has a future at the club, absolutely. If someone had come in and asked to buy him, I would have said no, not now. Wait a couple of years and then we will see what direction he is going."

Disappointed that we're helping Hull, who aren't exactly far behind us.

But... hopefully it's good for Hobbs, and he comes back here a better player for it. He'll do well with Nige again. I hope he does come back here afterwards, because I still think he's got a lot of potential.

If Hull beat us to the playoffs it will be down to a drop of form from city, not a sudden resurgence at Hull fueled by Hobbs.

Simply put, if we don't finish above Hull it's because we weren't good enough, not because we made Hull better.

I suspect the other teams form and results are the least of svens worries...he knows if we win every game we will get promoted...simples.

even if we win the lot, it could finish....

position - team - points
1 - QPR - 102
2 - Forest - 98
3 - Cardiff - 94
4 - Norwich 93
5 - Leicester - 93
6 - Leeds - 88
7 - Swansea - 85

I'd have a bet that if we won every game from now until the end of the season we would get promoted comfortably.

you can bet that if your auntie had a dick, she'd be your uncle

And right I'd be.

Another point...if we won all of our games, we'd win both legs of the playoffs and the final (if your table was accurate and it was only good enough for the playoffs)...so there!

Came on at half time against Cardiff. From the highlights he appears to be much as he was when last here.

Caught badly out of position for Chopra's header and wasn't even in the picture for the second despite the ball being in the penalty area for 20 seconds.

Can't see him earning a starting place for them on that evidence.
